sixties style hippy artHi! Welcome to Hopper’s Hippie Art. I’m Hopper, and you have entered my sixties style psychedelic hippie lovin’ world. Sixties style hippie art

When I was a kid, I always knew that I loved to draw, paint and create. As an adult, art was always fun, but career paths never allowed me the time to really explore it. After leaving a hectic hotel management career, my husband and I purchased a café and bar in LA County. It was then, that I saturated myself with the creation of company logo’s, menus, T-shirt designs and more. This was an eye opening and soul-inspiring project for me. But, time to spend creating was short lived, as all my time was consumed by working in our seven day a week restaurant and bar.

It wasn’t until the winter of 2002 when my husband, Harley purchased my first “real” canvas. I know, most people start out small…. but not me. My canvas was to be an old VW bus, that I immediately named “Dubie.” I realized very quickly that my love for creating, painting and drawing was much more that just a fun pastime. It was during this time, that we both decided to pay off all our bills, sell our business, and move to Hawaii. This was my husband’s paradise or choice, and he thought it would be a great place for me to be inspired by nature and all it’s beauty.

After many months of preparation, pet quarantines, Matson moving containers, and a couple of rentals later, we now live in paradise. We chose the Hilo side of the big island to call our home. It was not a hard decision, considering the vast tropical rainforests, lush and spectacular coastlines, slower pace of life, and of course the creative and artistic feel of the area. I spend most of my time chasing my twin sons, taking care of the ever-increasing amount of pets that seem to find a home with us, painting and drawing, and of course gardening. “Dubie” my magic bus is my daily driver and can be seen tooling around the country roads or parked at the beach, or even picking up the kids from school each day.

While visiting my sight, please take time to visit my galleries. These are filled with pictures of “Dubie” from original primer gray…. to psychedelic and gorgeous. Check out the “peace and love” page, filled with friends, family and of course peace and love. There is even some really groovy stickers and stuff to purchase, and I will be adding new creations often.

So, sit back, relax and take a journey back in time to a time of peace, love and music. Enjoy my hippie, sixties and rock and roll inspired art. Be amazed by the psychedelic and wild colored designs that fill my head. Have fun, and as always….

peace, love and aloha.
